Contest open
to those who are 18 years of age or older at the time of
registration (if the age of majority in a jurisdiction is
different than 18, you must be of the age of majority within
your jurisdiction to be eligible to receive a prize) with a
valid Internet e-mail address at the time of
registration.
This contest is open only to legal residents of the 50
United States, the District of Columbia or Canada. Contest
is void in Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana,
Vermont, the province of Quebec and any other state or
province which prohibits contests of this sort. Persons from
those states or provinces may play and have their places
noted in the standings, but ARE NOT eligible to win any
prizes. By entering this contest to win prizes, you hereby
represent and warrant that you are not a resident of the
aforementioned states or provinces. Canadian winners may be
required to take and pass a time mathematical skill testing
question.
This contest is void
where prohibited or restricted by law. This contest is
subject to all federal, state, provincial and local
laws.
Your participation in HeySportsFans Fantasy Play4Free
constitutes your acknowledgment and agreement that you have
read, understood, and agree to be bound by all of the terms
of these rules and that you have not paid any consideration
(including, but not limited to, any amount paid for the
purchase of a computer or for Internet access) for the
purpose of playing HeySportsFans Fantasy Play4Free.
HeySportsFans Fantasy Play4Free is a contest of skill.
Chances of winning are dependent on the total number of
entries received and the skill used in choosing your
players.
All
taxes associated with prize winnings are the sole
responsibility of the winner.
Employees of HeySportsFans (and their families) and
HeySportsFans directors, managers, officers, partners,
agents, contractors, suppliers, and distributors (and their
families), as well as employees of any hotel, venue, or
prize provider participating in this contest (and their
families) are not eligible.
No purchase or entry fee
necessary to enter or win. One entry per person. To
participate in HeySportsFans Fantasy Play4Free, you must
provide your name, address, city, state, zip code, country,
phone number, e-mail address, date of birth, and user ID.
Each participant must have a unique email address.
HeySportsFans
reserves the right to disqualify without notification any
entry that has been incorrectly completed, contains
inaccurate, false or incomplete information, or whose email
address is non-deliverable.
By registering, you agree to receive occasional promotional
emails from HeySportsFans. Contestants may not play with
multiple e-mail addresses, nor may contestants use any other
device or artifice to play multiple times or as multiple
contestants. Any contestant who attempts to play with
multiple e-mail addresses, under multiple identities, or
uses any other device or artifice to play multiple times,
will be disqualified without notification. No mechanically
reproduced entries permitted.
After you provide your user ID a password will be emailed to
you to access the game. Once logged into the game, you must
choose your team's player roster via the drop down boxes
provided on the player selection page. HeySportsFans takes
no responsibility for misdirected entries or for entries
that are lost, damaged or corrupted in the web
transmission.Each entry submitted will compete against all
other entries eligible to compete for prizes in any given
contest period.
Your roster must consist of
a total of four (4) player/team selections.
Football: one (1) quarterback, one (1) running back,
one (1) wide receiver, and one (1) team defense/special
teams selection.
Baseball: one (1) first baseman, one (1) outfielder,
one (1) starting pitcher, and (1) relief pitcher.
Your roster must consist of players listed in the
HeySportsFans Fantasy Play4free list of players at the time
of registration or trade, as the case may be. Players may
not be listed with their current team due to release,
retirement, or trade.
Football: Tuesday
through Monday, weekly for the entire NFL regular
season.
Baseball: Monday through Sunday, on a bi-weekly
basis, from the start of the MLB regular season and
continuing though the first Sunday of the NFL regular
season. Regular season games played before the first Monday
of the regular season will be included in the first contest
period.
The following system is used
for selecting your team roster AND for making trades.
Players may be selected each contest period through the
Internet site free of charge, 24 hours a day except during
weekly maintenance of the Internet site. You MUST choose a
new team roster with each new contest period; player
selections are not held over from one contest period into
the next. A player selection/trade is defined as dropping
one player from your team and adding another player. A
player MUST be exchanged for another player at the SAME
position (e.g., a quarterback for a quarterback, etc.) and
within the SAME group.
Football: Player selections will end and your roster
will be frozen one hour prior to scheduled kickoff of the
earliest game of the current week.
Baseball: Player selections will end and your roster
will be frozen at 11:59 PM Eastern Time, the day before the
start of each contest period.
To ensure you have the correct roster in place, when you
have completed your selections, you MUST click on the
"Activate Player Selections" button at the bottom of the
trading page. If you exit without activating player
selections, none of the trades will be accepted. All
approved trades are final.
Team scores will be
available through the Internet site the day after the final
game of each contest period is played. Points are awarded
based on the HeySportsFans Fantasy Play4Free scoring
system.
Football:
Quarterbacks, Running Backs, and Wide Receivers:
Passing/Receiving: 1 point per 30 yards, rounded down to the
nearest 1/10th of 1 point. (.1 points per 3 yards
passing/receiving) Rushing: 1 point per 10 yards, rounded
down to the nearest 1/10th of 1 point. (.1 points per 1
yards rushing) Reception: 0.5 points. Offensive Touchdown
(pass, rush, reception) = 6 points. Kick/Punt Return
Touchdown = 6 points. 2 point conversion (pass, rush, or
reception) = 2 points. Interception or Lost Fumble = minus 3
points.
Team Defense/Special Teams: Defensive Touchdown
(fumble or interception return) = 6 points. Kick/Punt return
for touchdown = 6 points. Safety = 2 points. Allowing 0
points in a game = 20 points. Allowing 2-10 points in a game
= 10 points. Allowing 11-20 points in a game = 5
points.
Baseball:
Position Players: Walk, Run, RBI: 1 point. Single: 2
points. Double: 3 points. Triple: 4 points. Home Run: 5
points. Error: minus 3 points.
Pitchers: Inning Pitched: 3 points (1 point for each
1/3 of an inning). Earned Run Allowed: minus 3 points.
Strikeout: 1 point. Win: 10 points. Save: 5 points. Shutout:
10 bonus points. No-Hitter: 50 bonus points.
Each contest period is scored separately. Scoring is based
only on the games actually played each week. If for any
reason, a player's game is postponed (due to weather, etc.)
you will receive points for that game only if you have the
player on your team roster the day the game is officially
completed. You only have until the end of a contest period
to dispute any score for the previous period. Scores will
not be changed for previous contest periods and the scores
posted by HeySportsFans for a particular contest period will
be final once the following contest period is over.
Statistics for games that are postponed will be counted in
the periods when the games are actually played.

unauthorized access to contest activities conducted or
information transmitted via the Internet. HeySportsFans is
not responsible for any problem or technical malfunction of

of any e-mail entry or any trade to be applied to a
participant's account due to technical problems or traffic
congestion on the Internet or at any web site, phone or fax

not responsible for any injury or damage to a participant's
computer related to or resulting from participation in this
contest (including, without limitation, damage by
virus).
A prize is awarded each
contest period to the HeySportstsFans Play4Free participant
with the highest scoring team for that contest period and
will win merchandise and/or gift certificate with a
suggested retail value of no less than $10. In the event of
a tie, the winner will be selected by random drawing from
all eligible entries received from entrants who have
accumulated the most contest points during that contest
period.
Additional Prize Information: Prizes are not
transferable and may not be substituted, except that
HeySportsFans reserves the right to substitute a prize of
equal or greater value if a prize is unavailable. Winners
are responsible for all applicable taxes on prizes received.
All winners of prize values of $600 or above will receive a
Federal 1099 form showing the value of the prize awarded.
All winners will be required to sign and return an affidavit
of eligibility and waiver of liability and other documents
prior to receiving their prize. Canadian residents may be
required to answer additional time-limited skill-testing
questions as a condition to being awarded a prize. Canadian
winners are subject to withholding of a portion of their
winnings as required by law. By participating, you agree
that HeySportsFans may use your name, image, likeness and
hometown for publicity and advertising purposes without
additional compensation,except where prohibited by law.
Chances of winning are dependent on the total number of
entries received and the skill used in choosing your
players. Minimum of 50 team entries is required to hold this
contest. All winners will be notified by e-mail and/or U.S.
Mail. Winners have thirty (30) days from the date
notification is sent to claim prizes. Unclaimed prizes or
prizes for which the winner's prize notification cannot be
delivered based upon the information given to HeySportsFans
during registration will be awarded to the next highest
finisher for the week in question. A complete list of
winners receiving prizes may be obtained by sending a
self-addressed, stamped(U.S. postage only) envelope to:
HeySportsFans Fantasy Play4Free, 700 Tabor Drive, Scotts
Valley, CA 95066. (WA and VT residents may omit return
postage).
If for any reason
HeySportsFans experiences technical difficulty with the
online trading database, changes to the rosters will not be
taken until the online trading database is reopened. If for
any reason (including, but not limited to, strikes,lockouts,
acts of God, technical difficulties, governmental
intervention, and other events not within the reasonable
control of HeySportsFans) the National Football League or
Major League Baseball experiences a work stoppage and/or
HeySportsFans cannot, in its best business judgment,
reasonably continue the contest, then HeySportsFans Fantasy
Football will not resume until both the National Football
League or Major League Baseball resumes its schedule and
HeySportsFans resumes normal business, if ever.
HeySportsFans is not
responsible for any damage, loss, injury, or expenses
incurred by a contestant as a result of enrolling, playing,
or winning. All entries, along with all copyright,
trademark, publicity, and other proprietary rights and
goodwill associated therewith, become the property of
HeySportsFans upon submission, and will not be returned to
any entrant. All dollar amounts specified herein are in U.S.
dollars. HeySportsFans Fantasy Play4Free is not affiliated
with or endorsed by the NFL, any NFL team, MLB, or any MLB
team. Any disputes must be mailed to HeySportsFans Fantasy
Play4Free, 700 Tabor Drive, Scotts Valley, CA 95066. No
phone calls regarding disputes will be accepted. All issues
or disputes,including but not limited to player selections,
scoring, infractions of these rules and disputes among
participants, will be reviewed and settled by the
HeySportsFans Fantasy Play4Free advisory board, whose
decisions shall be final. Any participant is entitled to
cancel registration in the game. Any controversy or claim
arising out of or relating to this contest, whether asserted
in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise (including whether
or not such controversies or claims are arbitrable) shall be
settled by binding arbitration administered by the American
Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration
Rules then in effect. All hearings and proceedings shall
take place in Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County, California,
using California law (excluding conflict of law rules), and
without regard to the California General Arbitration Act or
the Federal Arbitration Act. HeySportsFans shall not be
liable for any consequential, punitive or exemplary damages.
If any provision of these rules should ever be held to be
invalid or unenforceable, such invalid or unenforceable
provision may be revised by HeySportsFans and,whether or not
revised, such provision shall not affect any other
provisions of these rules, and such other provisions shall
continue in full force and effect. By participating in or
entering HeySportsFans Fantasy Play4Free, you (i)
acknowledge acceptance of these rules and agree to adhere to
and be bound by them, (ii) release, hold harmless, and waive
any rights to recovery against HeySportsFans and its
sponsors, suppliers, contractors, directors, managers,
officers,employees, partners, owners, and agents from and
against any claims, expenses, damages, and/or liability
incurred by you or your representatives in connection with
or related to the operation of, or your participation in,
HeySportsFans Fantasy Play4Free, and (iii) agree to hold
HeySportsFans harmless from all typographical, statistical,
transaction, and communication errors or omissions.
HeySportsFans reserves the right to make corrections to any
and all material and information to correct such errors or
omissions. HeySportsFans specifically disclaim any and all
representations and warranties (whether express or implied)
in connection with the contest and/or your participation in
it. HeySportsFans reserves the right to disqualify any
participant for suspected cheating or non-adherence to the
Official Rules. Prizes awarded in HeySportsFans Fantasy
Play4Free may be subject to legal restrictions. Participants
agree that in the event a legal authority challenges the
award of prizes to winners of HeySportsFans Fantasy
Play4Free, HeySportsFans has the sole right to determine
whether or not to award such prizes. HeySportsFans reserves
the right to make any changes, in its sole and absolute
discretion, deems necessary to the contest and rules as the
season progresses. THIS CONTEST IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY
