This contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia or Canada. Contest is void in Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, Vermont, the province of Quebec and any other state or province which prohibits contests of this sort. Persons from those states or provinces may play and have their places noted in the standings, but ARE NOT eligible to win any prizes. By entering this contest to win prizes, you hereby represent and warrant that you are not a resident of the aforementioned states or provinces. Canadian winners may be required to take and pass a time mathematical skill testing question. This contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. This contest is subject to all federal, state, provincial and local laws. Your participation in HeySportsFans Fantasy Football constitutes your acknowledgement and agreement that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all of the terms of these rules. HeySportsFans Fantasy Football is a contest of skill. Chances of winning are dependent on the total number of entries received and the skill used in choosing your players. All taxes associated with prize winnings are the sole responsibility of the winner. Employees of HeySportsFans (and their families) and HeySportsFans directors, managers, officers, partners, agents, contractors, suppliers, and distributors (and their families), as well as employees of any hotel, venue, or prize provider participating in this contest (and their families) are not eligible. Registration To participate in the HeySportsFans Fantasy Football, you must provide your name, address, city, state, zip code, country, phone number, e-mail address, date of birth, and user ID. In addition you must provide either credit card billing information or payment in full in the form of check or money order. There is a $20 service fee for all returned checks. No refunds will be issued after September 9, 2009. All purchases are final after this date. After you provide your user ID a password will be emailed to you to access the game. Once logged into the game, you must choose your team's player roster via the drop down boxes provided on the player selection page. Each participant must have a unique email address. You may modify your team from week to week as set forth in the "Player Selection" section, below. HeySportsFans Fantasy Football will begin on September 10, 2009and will continue for the entire 2009 National Football League regular season ending with games played on January 3, 2010. All dates are subject to change. Entries will be accepted from July 15, 2009 to September 13, 2009, 11:00 AM ET. HeySportsFans takes no responsibility for misdirected entries or for entries that are lost, damaged or corrupted in the web transmission. HeySportsFans reserves the right to disqualify any entry that has been incorrectly completed or contains invalid or incorrect information. Each entry submitted will compete against all other entries eligible to compete for overall prizes in any given contest period. Leagues Teams are given priority for placement in leagues on a first-come, first serve basis and will be assigned to leagues at the start of the season. Budget Leagues: All Budget teams will be placed in Budget leagues of a maximum of 50 paid teams, plus additional "no purchase necessary" entries as determined by HeySportsFans. Leagues may compose of less than 50 teams at the discretion of HeySportsFans. If the last formed league has less than 50 paid teams, their league prizes may be pro-rated. Entrants will be asked a preference of how they would like their teams spread throughout leagues. HeySportsFans will do their best to honor such requests but reserves the right to assign leagues in any way it feels necessary. Premium Leagues: All Premium teams will be placed in Premium leagues of a maximum 20 teams. If the last formed league has less than 20 paid teams, their league prizes may be pro-rated. Multiple Premium entries from a single player will automatically be distributed as evenly as possible throughout Premium leagues. High Stake Leagues: All High Stake teams will be placed in High Stake leagues of a maximum of 10 teams. If the last formed league has less than 10 paid teams, their league prizes may be pro-rated. Multiple High Stake entries from a single player will automatically be distributed as evenly as possible throughout High Stake leagues. Rosters Your roster must consist of a total of twelve (12) players and three (3) team selections: 3 Quarterbacks, 3 Running Backs, 3 Wide Receivers, 1 Tight End, 1 Place Kicker, 1 Punter, and 3 Team Defense/Special Teams. After Week 8, additional players will be added at the discretion of HeySportsFans to some player groups to compensate for injuries and to include top performing players not already in the game. Your roster must consist of players listed in the HeySportsFans Fantasy Football list of players at the time of registration or trade, as the case may be. Players may not be listed with their current team due to release, retirement, or trade. Player Selection The following system of selecting players is used for selecting your original team roster AND for trading players during the season. Players may be selected through the Internet site free of charge, 24 hours a day except during the trading blackout period one (1) hour prior to the start of the earliest game of the current week and during weekly maintenance of the Internet site. A player selection/trade is defined as dropping one player from your team and adding another player. A player MUST be exchanged for another player at the SAME position (e.g., a quarterback for a quarterback, etc.) and within the SAME group. To ensure you have the correct roster in place, when you have completed your selections, you MUST click on the "Activate Player Selections" button at the bottom of the trading page. If you exit without activating player selections, none of the trades will be accepted. All approved trades are final. Contest Periods and Trading Deadlines Contest periods run Tuesday through Monday and each contest period is scored separately. Player selections will end and your roster will be frozen one hour prior to scheduled kickoff of the earliest game of the current contest period. The one exception is the first contest period - the trade deadline is one hour prior to scheduled kickoff of the earliest Sunday game of the first week of the season. Player selections made after the trading deadline will not take effect until the next contest period. Scoring Team scores will be available through the Internet site the day after the final game of each week is played. Your weekly ranking will be available beginning Tuesday, September 15, 2009. Points are awarded based on the HeySportsFans Fantasy Football scoring system. Quarterbacks, Running Backs, Wide Receivers, and Tight Ends: Passing/Receiving: 1 point per 30 positive yards, rounded down to the nearest 1/10th of 1 point. (.1 points per 3 yards passing/receiving) Rushing: 1 point per 10 positive yards, rounded down to the nearest 1/10th of 1 point. (.1 points per 1 yards rushing) Reception: 0.5 points. Offensive Touchdown (pass, rush, reception) = 6 points. Kick/Punt Return Touchdown = 6 points. 2 point conversion (pass, rush, or reception) = 2 points. Interception or Lost Fumble = minus 3 points. Place Kickers: Field Goal = 3 points, Extra Point = 1 point, Missed/Blocked field goal or extra point = minus 1 point Punters: Punts = 1 point per 10 Punt Coverage Yards, rounded down to the nearest 1/10th of 1 point. (.1 points per 1 Punt Coverage Yards.) Punt Coverage Yards is calculated as Punt Net Average minus 30 multiplied by Number of Punts. Kicks Inside 20 Yard Line = 1 point. Team Defense/Special Teams: Defensive Touchdown (fumble or interception return) = 6 points. Kick/Punt return for touchdown = 6 points. Safety = 2 points. Sack = 1 point. Interception = 1 point. Allowing 0 points in a game = 20 points. Allowing 2-10 points in a game = 10 points. Allowing 11-20 points in a game = 5 points. Each contest period is scored separately. Scoring is based only on the games actually played each contest period. If for any reason, a player's game is postponed (due to weather, etc.) you will receive points for that game only if you have the player on your team roster the day the game is officially completed. You only have until the end of a contest period to dispute any score for the previous period. Scores will not be changed for previous contest periods and the scores posted by HeySportsFans for a particular contest period will be final once the following contest period is over. Statistics for games that are postponed will be counted in the weeks when the games are actually played. HeySportsFans Fantasy Football DOES NOT SUPPORT WEBTV. WEBTV USERS ARE NOT ABLE TO REGISTER FOR THE GAME. HeySportsFans is not responsible, if for any reason, the Internet site or any portion of the contest is not capable of running as planned, including, without limitation, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the control of HeySportsFans which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this game. HeySportsFans is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation, faulty transmission or communication, line failure, theft, destruction, or unauthorized access to contest activities conducted or information transmitted via the Internet. HeySportsFans is not responsible for any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network, telephone line, cable network, cable line, computer on-line system, server, equipment, or software. HeySportsFans is not responsible for the failure of any e-mail entry or any trade to be applied to a participant's account due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, phone or fax or cable lines, or any combination thereof. HeySportsFans is not responsible for any injury or damage to a participant's computer related to or resulting from participation in this contest (including, without limitation, damage by virus). Real-Time Stats Real-time stats are provided as a free bonus to players with at least one Premium or High Stakes team and as an optional add-on for Budget team-only players. This service is provided on an "as-is" basis and is contracted through a third-party vendor. Although this vendor will apply its best efforts to maintain this service, no warranty is offered and no fitness for any particular purpose is guaranteed by HeySportsFans or the vendor. Before the start of the season all qualified owners will receive an email with a link and password for access to real-time stats. Note that real-time stats are not official nor are used in the computation of final scores and are strictly for entertainment purposes only. Prizes and Publicity Weekly League Prizes: Weekly prizes are awarded during the HeySportsFans Fantasy Football season to the participants with the highest scoring teams in each league for that contest period. The participants with the highest scoring teams in each Budget league will each win a $10 HeySportsFans gift certificate. The participants with the highest scoring teams in each Premium and High Stake league will each win a $25 HeySportsFans Gift Certificate. Budget League Season Prizes: The season league winner, awarded to the participants who have the highest cumulative score for the season in each league, will win $250, the participants with the second-highest score for the season in each league will win $100, the participants with the third-highest score for the season in each league will win a $50 HeySportsFans Gift Certificate, the participants with the fourth-highest and fifth-highest scores for the season in each league will win a $25 HeySportsFans Gift Certificate, and the participants with the sixth-highest through twenty-fifth highest scores for the season in each league will win a $10 HeySportsFans Gift Certificate. Premium League Season Prizes: The season league winner, awarded to the participants who have the highest cumulative score for the season in each league, will win $500, the participants with the second-highest score for the season in each league will win $175, the participants with the third-highest score for the season in each league will win $100, the participants with the fourth-highest and fifth-highest scores for the season in each league will win $75, and the participants with the sixth-highest through tenth-highest scores for the season in each league will win a $50 HeySportsFans Gift Certificate. High Stake League Season Prizes: The season league winner, awarded to the participants who have the highest cumulative score for the season in each league, will win $1400, the participants with the second-highest score for the season in each league will win $350, the participants with the third-highest score for the season in each league will win $225, and the participants with the fourth-highest and fifth-highest scores for the season in each league will win $150. Bonus Overall Prize: A Bonus Overall Prize, awarded to the participant who has the highest cumulative score for the season will win $500. "Beat My Wife" Weekly Challenge: A weekly prize is awarded to a randomly chosen participant if they have a higher scoring team than the designated "Beat My Wife" team for that contest period. The prize is a HeySportsFans gift certificate good for free entry into the current year's HeySportsFans Playoff Fantasy Football Contest, valued at $10. Tie Breakers: The tie breaker for determining the highest weekly score is the player who estimates closest to the total combined score for the last scheduled Monday night football game of the week in question without going over that total. This estimate is inputted on the same page of the Internet site as player selections are made. If for any reason the last scheduled Monday night game is canceled, postponed, or unscheduled this tie breaker will apply to the last game played that week. The second tie breaker is the participant with the highest overall season score to date. If still tied the tie breaker will be the participant with the single highest weekly score to date. HeySportsFans reserves the right to create additional skill-based tiebreakers as necessary. The tie breaker for the Bonus Overall Prize and all other season prizes will be the single highest weekly score for the season. The second tie breaker will be the second highest weekly score and so on. Any additional tiebreakers will be a skill test tie breaker. Gift Certificates: Gift certificates are nontransferable, have no cash value, must be used within one year of issuance and may only be used once. Gift certificates may be applied to the order total for fantasy game purchases only. HeySportsFans does not issue or carry credit for order totals less than zero. No more than five (5) gift certificates may used together towards any single HeySportsFans game by any single individual. Additional Prize Information: Prizes are not transferable and may not be substituted, except that HeySportsFans reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a prize is unavailable. Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes on prizes received. All winners of prize values of $600 or above will receive a Federal 1099 form showing the value of the prize awarded. All winners will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and waiver of liability and other documents, including providing their Social Security Number, prior to receiving their prize. Canadian residents may be required to answer additional time-limited skill-testing questions as a condition to being awarded a prize. Canadian winners are subject to withholding of a portion of their winnings as required by law. By participating, you agree that HeySportsFans may use your name, image, likeness and hometown for publicity and advertising purposes without additional compensation,except where prohibited by law. Chances of winning are dependent on the total number of entries received and the skill used in choosing your players. Minimum of 100 Budget league entries is required to hold this contest. All winners will be notified by e-mail and/or U.S. Mail. Winners have thirty (30) days from the date notification is sent to claim prizes. Unclaimed prizes or prizes for which the winner's prize notification cannot be delivered based upon the information given to HeySportsFans during registration will be awarded to the next highest finisher. A complete list of winners receiving prizes may be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped (U.S. postage only) envelope to: HeySportsFans Fantasy Football, 700 Tabor Drive, Scotts Valley, CA 95066. Unforeseen Events If for any reason HeySportsFans experiences technical difficulty with the online trading database, changes to the rosters will not be taken until the online trading database is reopened. If for any reason (including, but not limited to, strikes,lockouts, acts of God, technical difficulties, governmental intervention, and other events not within the reasonable control of HeySportsFans) the National Football League experiences a work stoppage and/or HeySportsFans cannot, in its best business judgment, reasonably continue the contest, then HeySportsFans Fantasy Football will not resume until both the National Football League resumes its schedule and HeySportsFans resumes normal business, if ever. General HeySportsFans is not responsible for any damage, loss, injury, or expenses incurred by a contestant as a result of enrolling, playing, or winning. All entries, along with all copyright, trademark, publicity, and other proprietary rights and goodwill associated therewith, become the property of HeySportsFans upon submission, and will not be returned to any entrant. All dollar amounts specified herein are in U.S. dollars. HeySportsFans Fantasy Football is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NFL or any NFL team. HEYSPORTSFANS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES TO THE CONTEST AND/OR THESE RULES AS THE SEASON PROGRESSES. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. All issues or disputes,including but not limited to player selections, scoring, infractions of these rules and disputes among participants, will be reviewed and settled by the HeySportsFans Fantasy Football advisory board, whose decisions shall be final. Any participant is entitled to cancel registration in the game. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this contest, whether asserted in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise (including whether or not such controversies or claims are arbitrable) shall be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules then in effect. All hearings and proceedings shall take place in Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County, California, using California law (excluding conflict of law rules), and without regard to the California General Arbitration Act or the Federal Arbitration Act. HeySportsFans shall not be liable for any consequential, punitive or exemplary damages. If any provision of these rules should ever be held to be invalid or unenforceable, such invalid or unenforceable provision may be revised by HeySportsFans and,whether or not revised, such provision shall not affect any other provisions of these rules, and such other provisions shall continue in full force and effect. By participating in or entering HeySportsFans Fantasy Football, you (i) acknowledge acceptance of these rules and agree to adhere to and be bound by them, (ii) release, hold harmless, and waive any rights to recovery against HeySportsFans and its sponsors, suppliers, contractors, directors, managers, officers,employees, partners, owners, and agents from and against any claims, expenses, damages, and/or liability incurred by you or your representatives in connection with or related to the operation of, or your participation in, HeySportsFans Fantasy Football, and (iii) agree to hold HeySportsFans harmless from all typographical, statistical, transaction, and communication errors or omissions. HeySportsFans reserves the right to make corrections to any and all material and information to correct such errors or omissions. HeySportsFans specifically disclaim any and all representations and warranties (whether express or implied) in connection with the contest and/or your participation in it.
